I discovered a bald patch on my head in August 2000. I had suffered with alopecia areata previously, and went to visit my dermatologist. After numerous consultations with my dermatologist, there were no signs of improvement. In fact, by November 2000, my hair loss was so severe that even though I had grown my hair shoulder length, the patches were clearly visible.

In desperation, I shaved my head and purchased a wig. I also decided that I was not going to visit the dermatologist again as I felt there was no point in spending the money and seeing no results.

I was referred to Dr. Alexander by my hairdresser, and also, a few months later, by a friend of mine, after she had seen positive results with a colleague of hers whom Dr. Alexander had treated.

My first appointment with Dr Alexander was on 19 January 2001. My last appointment was on 19 March 2001. I am thrilled with the results. I am now growing all my hair back again as there is hair growing in all the patches.

My self-confidence is on the mend, thanks to Dr Alexander. I had actually grown to believe that I would wear a wig for the rest of my life – never again!
